To whom it may concern:

I am honestly surprised no one has written this letter yet. I am just curious as to what on earth you are thinking up there in the Office of Information Technology. Clearly the goal of the new printing policy is to make our lives much more difficult and make it less possible for us, the Auburn student body, to succeed. I personally do not have time to sit and wait to receive a confirmation email saying that my document has been approved to be printed.

Honestly though, I am very thankful that in this day and age many professors have their students turn in assignments online. I was especially thankful for this when Auburn came out with their new printing policy. Honestly Auburn and the Office of Information Technology, try less. I want to be able to print easily and quickly and move on with my life with my freshly printed document in hand.

The home page of TigerPrint describes in detail the process of making an account, adding funds to your account, and the overall process. After looking at the website extensively and the email sent out by the Office of Information Technology I got in my car and drove to Walmart and bought myself a $30 printer. Why you ask? Because it was less of a hassle to actually own a printer than jumping through hoops set up by The Office of Information Technology.

Auburn if you wanted more of my money, install a new restaurant on campus or something more of value not a system where I have to make an account and have a credit in order to print. When you calculate how much our parents spend on our tuition, our housing, our on-campus meal plans, it adds up. I can understand where Auburn has good intentions but honestly, try less. We as Auburn students would greatly appreciate it.

For those who do not have a printer at home I am sure the last thing they want to worry about is if they have enough credit in their account in order to print a document. I personally want to be able to carry around quarters and that be enough to print, almost like doing my laundry. I do not understand why students have to go through all of the steps in order to print a document for a class.

I decided to set up an account just to see how long the process took and it honestly took longer than necessary. Not only did you have to request an account but you have to receive an email saying your account has been authorized. Let me just say that whoever authorizes accounts and sends out the emails is not speedy about it. So, whoever this letter concerns, if you want the Auburn students to actually use your new printing services try less and also be more proficient with it. The Auburn student body might use your services one day but you really need to fix the kinks in your system or actually do us all a favor and go back to your old quick ways and just charge it to my ebill.

Sincerely,

Poor and Angered Auburn Student

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
