To the people who believe that Teachers have an "easy" job,

First of all, shout out to the people that are Education Majors and Teachers.

There will be many negative people that when they ask what you major is will make a face when you answer "Education." When people hear the word teacher they believe that teaching does not consist of anything but standing in-front of a class of children all day babysitting. Do not let the people that down your major affect you because one day you will have an impact on so many student's lives.

If Education is such an "easy" job then why are there not more people pursuing it?

If you believe that Education Majors have it so easy then what is stopping you from pursuing a job in education? Stay up late doing homework that you do not really have time for because you are interning and volunteering at a local school. Witness problems within a child's home that is affecting them that you can not do anything about. There is nothing that makes a Teacher's job "easier" than anyone else's, there are things about being a Teacher that are easier than other careers but in the end, no career should be labeled as "easy."

There is not a method that can help you find the right answer in Education.

There is not one way of handling or teaching each student. There is a variety of students that will need help in different ways. Not every student is as good as the other when it comes to subjects. There are many personal obstacles that each child will go through that they might need their teachers help to conquer. Each student needs to feel like they are an individual and not labeled in groups.

Remember your favorite teacher?

What made that teacher stand out to you? Did that teacher help tutor you and go the extra mile so that you would understand the material? Did that teacher make sure you were getting the help you needed? Did that teacher show kindness and care for you? Do you think that teacher would appreciate you telling her that helping you and the other students in your class was an easy job? Do you think that teacher would appreciate you telling her that all of the late nights she spent making lesson plans wasn't difficult? What if you told her that changing her schedule around to give students extra help was not difficult sometimes?

I know that you probably did not take into consideration what a teacher has to accomplish to make sure that you and other students successfully learn the material. You probably did not think about the fact that even when school is out and there are holidays that lesson plans and activities have to be made so that the rest of the school year can go smoothly. So next time think about the challenges that teachers have to face and the fact that one day your children will be taught by those teachers who you thought job was so "easy".

From,

An education major who believes people need to think before they label teaching as an "easy" career.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
