An Open Letter To My Support System

You were the ones I leaned on.

An Open Letter To My Support System

To Those Who Support Me,

I have never been a weak person who needed help often, but when life knocked me down you were always there to help me get back on my feet. So many times in life we focus on the material things and the relationships that stem from them. Almost everyone in my generation is so attached to their smartphones and social media that keep us interconnected through the web, but not many of us are able to sit with a friend in silence and know that there is something wrong.

I am so thankful for everyone in my life, but especially my support system because they are what keep me going on a day-to-day basis when I don't think I can go or fight anymore. Even at my lowest point you were there to sit with me and tell me that everything would work out the way it was supposed to and that I was one of the strongest and most stubborn people that you know and that I could get through this.

You never let me down and even when I gave up on myself, you were there to guide me while I walked in the dark. I just hope that one day I will be able to be as supportive and kind as you have been to me.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart,

Sincerely,

An Eternally Grateful Friend

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
