College acceptances are rolling in and I am brought back to the stressful time that is known as looking for a roommate. Thankfully, I found the perfect one.

Dear Roomie,

Now that our first semester is over and we, unfortunately, will be sleeping in our own rooms for the next 5 weeks (with the exception of when we hang out of course #separationanxiety), I have a lot to say to you.

Thank you for reaching out first over GroupMe and texting with me every day. I’m so sorry when I told someone else that I would room with them before we had the chance to talk about rooming together and thank you for being so understanding while I worked everything out.

Thank you for letting me double, triple and quadruple text you when I am stressing out and for giving me the perfect advice. Thank you for ranting to me in the room and for being the only person that I can have serious conversations with because we always feel the same way about everything.

Thank you for leaving me notes on the door that wish me luck on my test or that say we are going out even when I told you that I wasn’t… because most of the time I end up going out *cough, cough #turftuesday*. Thank you for putting up with my snapchat addiction and snapchatting with me even after we turn off our lights and thank you for helping me choose my Instagram pictures.

Thank you for being the most low maintenance person and for always going with the flow. I’m not sure how you put up with my neurosis but I’m certainly glad that you do. Thank you for always having my back and doing anything and everything for/with me. It meant so much to me when you would check in when I was sick and offer to bring me food or when I freaked out about leaving my computer in the room and you offered to bring it to me.

Thank you for being as clean and organized as I am… the fact that you make your bed every day has really encouraged me to do the same and has created an atmosphere where I am never embarrassed about having people in our room. Also, I really couldn’t imagine anyone else cleaning their room from top to bottom before they went home for Thanksgiving.

Thank you for always doing your laundry with me, coming to shower at the same time as me (and encouraging me to play my playlists) and for making sure I got the back of my hair when I am straightening it (even though I am always fixing yours). I will never forget the time that it took us about 4 hours to do laundry and I had to wake you up at 1:30am to take out our laundry from the dryer.

Thank you for always having dinner with me, going out with me and living in a shoebox with me. I really couldn’t thank you enough for being the best roommate, best friend and for becoming my sister. With rush next semester, I couldn’t imagine not being sorority sisters but regardless of what happens, I know that nothing will ever come between us. I can’t wait for next semester so that I can have another semester of killing it with you. See you really soon!!

Love always,

Your Roomie

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
