To The One Who Gets Me Through It,

Everyone has that certain someone that they can count on to be there for them no matter the situation. For me, that's you. Life is full of ups and downs, but I can honestly say that you're the one person who has consistently been there to get me through some of the most difficult, nerve wracking, and even sometimes heartbreaking times of my life.

I will never be able to thank you enough for all that you do for me. You are the true definition of selfless. Through the entire course of our friendship, you have always put everyone else before yourself, myself included. You have sat with me through funerals, held me for hours while I cried after breakups, supported me through difficult life changing decisions, driven hundreds of miles to see me; just so I wouldn't be alone, and so much more than I will ever be able to count. I can honestly say that God blessed me with the best friend I could have ever asked for when he brought me you.

Everyone deserves to have someone in their lives like you. "You're the type of person that comes into people's lives and makes them see the sun where they once say clouds. The type of person who believes in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The type of person that loves you, simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of person." You are truly one of a kind. Please, never EVER change.

I hope you know by now that I am always here to be that person for you too. While we may not be a five minute drive from one another, I'm just a phone call away. You say the word, I'll be there as fast as I physically can. You are the one person I would do ANYTHING for, never forget that. Just as I won't ever forget the things that you have done for me. I'm here for you twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. I'm here for you January through December. I'm here for you whether we're a five minute drive from one another or on the opposite sides of the world. The point is, you're my best friend. I love you and I will always be here to get you through it, too. Don't ever forget that.

Thank you for always being there, no matter what time of day or night.

Thank you for picking me up when I'm down.

Thank you for encouraging me to keep pushing forward.

Thank you for reminding me to use my pain as my motivation.

Thank you for being there when it matters most.

Thank you for sticking by my side day in and day out.

Thank you for loving me.

Thank you for being my best friend.

Most importantly, thank you for being the one who gets me through it.

Endless love,

The One Who Sometimes Needs Saving

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
