Dear Inspiration,

Where do I even begin? You're one of the most hardworking and thoughtless people I've come to know. The passion that you put into each and every one of your projects is definitely contagious because as I find myself wandering through my time at college, I can feel the need to be at my best at all times creeping behind me and it isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've been given so much already in this little life of mine and I couldn't be more thankful. But let's be honest, there isn't just one single person that inspires me to be this way.

To My Parents

Everything you both have gone through and given up just so that we could have everything you couldn't pushes me to do my best. It reminds me that what I do now not only with have an impact on my future, but my future family's as well.

Plus the fact that you're able to let me spread my wings and go off and do what I not only want but need to do speaks measures. Thank you for always letting me test the waters whether it's playing an instrument you've never played, going to a university out of the state or pursuing a career in a field that you know is dying.

To My Siblings

I'm sad that I'm more than 300 miles from home but even though you're not here with me, I know I have to always do my best for the two of you. Being the oldest I know, even now, that I always have to set the example and continue to succeed so you have someone worthy to look up to. And just that fact alone makes me continue to do my best.

Hopefully I've been able to be the role model for the both of you that I know I need to be. But if you ever need anything, family is family and I will always be there if you need me.

To My Friends

Holy crap, do my friends do amazing things. From working in biology labs to interning on presidential campaigns to working with animals in a field that is super interesting to owning their own businesses, you all do such amazing things. And seeing that so early in one's college career inspires me to do the same and be as well versed as you.

I've changed my path because I saw an outlet that would suit my wants and desires much more than my original path, and if it weren't for all of you I never would've thought deep enough to want to change. And for that I thank you all.

I can't thank you all enough for the journey that is mine and the influence you've had in the life that I live. Truly I am blessed to have the greatest people cheering me on through every step I take and every decision I make.

Stay hungry, stay foolish and continue to do all of the amazing things that you do. Who knows? You may be inspiring more than you think.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
