An Open Letter To The Man I Love

Falling in love. Most of us have had that feeling. The slow butterflies that start with a crush and develop into a tornado tearing your emotions and mind apart. It starts so innocently, and then next thing you know, you're so wrapped up in each other. You don't want to leave each other's side. Ever. That's how I feel about the man I love. The man I'm in love with. He's so beyond perfection. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. So this is to the man I love.

First off, thank you.

Thank you for being the person I can go to with any and every problem I have.

Thank you for letting me vent every day to you about the little stupid things that happen in my day.

Thank you for being my saving grace, my blessing, my ultimate gift in life that God gives everyone.

Thank you for the constant support in every choice I make.

Thank you for talking me out of the crazy or bad ones.

Thank you for always understanding me.

Thank you for listening to me.

Thank you for telling me to breathe every once in a while when I get worked up.

Thank you for helping me relax when I am stressed.

Also, before I forget, because you know how forgetful I can be, thank you for handling my crazy emotional butt. I mean, girls are emotional, but my emotions are constantly everywhere like all the time. Just thank you for everything you have done for me the past three and a half years.

There are so many reasons why I love you and so many things I love about you; I think everyone would be here forever reading these if I listed them all.

I love how after a long day you cuddle up next to me on the couch and tuck your head under my neck.

I love how you get silly when you’re tired.

I love how you say “I goofed” when you mess up.

I love how you smile at me all the time for no reason at all.

I love how when you are sleeping you reach out and pull me close to you.

I love how you constantly tell me I am the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.

I love how you go to tell me a secret and you whisper “I love you.” every single time.

I love that you call me princess, my love, angel, and so many other names.

I love you because you treat me the way I deserve to be treated.

I love you because you love me unconditionally.

I love you because you are everything I could have ever wanted in life, plus more.

There is so much more that I could say, but let me just say this. Thank you for coming into my life the day you did and thank you for being in my life continuously ever since that day. Every day with you has been the greatest day of my life. Each one as the days go on become my new favorite day, all because of you. You have given us so much, and I couldn’t be happier than I am right now. You have helped me grow and become the woman I am today.

I love you Patrick Coleman, forever and for always you will be the only man I love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
