I hope I can be a good role model for you.

An Open Letter To The Kid Who Looks Up To Me
Morgan Chappuis

To the kid who looks up to me:

I am honored to be your role model, really. I never really thought I would be a role model for someone, but I am happy you picked me as yours. I hope that I can be a good example for you, and I promise that I will do what I can to be that. I've got a lot of advice that I want to give you, and I hope that over time, I can pass down as much of my wisdom to you as possible. For now, though, there are a few things I think you need to know.

1. Don't give up.

Mostly, I mean in school, but I know there are going to be a lot of times where you're going to want to give up. Sometimes it will be when you have too much homework, or when you've got a big test. Other times it may be because you've just got too much to do, or you've got a hard challenge facing you. But don't give up, because I know you can get through it.

2. Tell your friends how important they are.

I know it may not seem like it matters now, but telling your friends that they mean something to you is important. You never know when they may need that pick-me-up, and as you get older you'll find that it does matter. There may be days where you doubt if your friends care, but believe me, if they know you care, they'll tell you that they care as well.

3. Remember that your role models will mess up.

Firstly, I know I'm not your only role model, and that's okay. But know that we will mess up sometimes. That does make us any less of a role model, but you need to know that we will make mistakes. When that happens, just think of it as what not to do.

4. Have fun.

I know, you're a kid right now so that's all you know how to do. You're going to get older, though, and suddenly you're going to be doing more work than having fun. So enjoy the fun you're having now, and don't forget to keep having fun as you get older. Life can't be all work and no play.

I will always have more advice to give you, but for now, this is it. Keep on doing what you're doing, and I hope I can always be a good role model for you.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
