Are you a doctor yet?

An Open Letter To My Future Self

Dear Future Self,

Well, congratulations, you’ve made it this far in life. Are you a doctor yet? You better be a doctor by the time you read this. If not, exit out and come back when you are. That was always your goal in life and I hope you stuck with it. I hope you have finally found a woman that can put up with you. I am kidding, she is probably the greatest woman in the world in your eyes and that is what matters; as long as she makes you happy. It’s time for you to be happy.

You know, there was always something about you, the way you touched the lives of the people around you. You cared about people, probably more than you actually cared about yourself. You have already changed the lives of many people. I know it seemed like you were going through life alone. All you ever did was study, go to class, eat, sleep, and save a few lives in the process. But, remember this: you are not alone. There is always someone looking over you, watching over your shoulder and guiding you in the right direction.

I still cannot believe how far in life you’ve come. I am so proud of you. You have done so much in your life to be proud of. Just quit trying to play God. You literally cannot. You cannot save everyone. You can’t change everyone. You can’t live forever. Remember that. You’re going to have more let downs, heartbreaks, and headaches in life. It’s going to be okay though! I promise. Just because you do not excel at everything in life does not make you any less of a person, it makes you human. Again, quit trying to play God.

For heaven’s sake, I hope you have learned to go to bed at a reasonable hour. You used to miss out on so much back when you were in college. You would stay awake until three or five o’clock in the morning doing your damn school work. Well, attempting to. We both know how that went. I know how you feel though, you are nocturnal. I’m 99% sure you would be less stressed if you went to bed earlier though, keep that in mind.

Have I told you how proud of you I am? Well, I mean it. Your life accomplishments make you such an inspiration to other people and you really should be proud of yourself. I’m so glad that you are able to live such a plentiful life. Take care of yourself for a change. No one is going to be mad at you.

Lastly, always remember what I am about to tell you. Keep your head up. I know you’ve gone through some hard times in life where nothing ever seemed to get any better but, that’s what life is all about. You are going to continue to go through hard times and hardships and I promise everything is going to work out. Learn from it and continue living. You are a wonderful human and people actually may enjoy having you around but no one likes seeing you down. Sometimes you have to fake a smile to fool the world. It’ll all be okay though; I promise.

Your Past Self,

Nic

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
