To The Friends I've Met In College, I Can't Wait To Graduate With You By My Side

Making friends in college is hard. You come from knowing every single person you went to high school with, to coming to a public university with thousands of new faces and not knowing a single one (or maybe you already know a few; regardless, it's hard to find that new group.) You no longer have that solid friend group because you most likely all went your separate ways.

Coming into college can be scary, especially if you think you're going to be experiencing it friendless like I thought. But I was way off, the friends you meet in college are unlike any other friends you have ever had. It might be scary at first, but if you put the effort in, you will have amazing friends in no time at all.

Feeling the way I felt the beginning of my freshman year, I would have never thought I would be where I am now when it comes to how many friends I have made.

To my new college friends,

Thank you for always being down for late-night food adventures and late-night studying adventures too! You guys have made my college experience unlike anything else and I am so grateful to have met you all! You make the hard college nights fun and the fun college nights even more fun. I can't wait for the next two years together. I'm excited to see what crazy adventures we embark on in the years to come!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
