I am a desk worker in freshman residence hall. As I am sitting at the desk, writing this article, I am noticing freshman walk by either pushing a cart or hugging their parents goodbye. I remember move in like it was only a year ago. As I am sitting here observing, I want to tell them so many things from everything will be worth it and that the first semester will be stressful. College is an amazing, stressful, and a great new chapter. the whole purpose of this article is to simply give the advice that I want to give to every college freshman and some things that I have wished I have known as a freshman.

Congratulations! You have graduated from high school, passed the dreaded ACT or SAT. Take a moment and think back on how fast high school flew by. Now imagine college flying by hundred times faster. One moment you are that eager freshman waiting to embark on your college years, and the next moment you blink your eyes and you're entering into your second year, like me. For some people these could be the last four years of school. Ever. For others, you could be on the five, six, or even seven year track before you graduate. Enjoy every minute of these years, because sooner than you realize you will be entering...the real world. This is a scary thought for most of us.

Take advantage of everything college has to offer, the internships, the parties, the tutoring, etc. Get involved on campus, whether it's Greek life, student organizations or intramurals. You will meet so many people if you get involved and be active, and you will have so much more to do. Do not wish your college years away. I repeat, do not wish your college years away. I have been guilty of sometimes saying, "I can't wait to graduate and get out of here!" These are the best years of your life. Do not take them for granted. Enjoy your friends. Boyfriends/girlfriends will come and go, but your true friends will always be there. Go have a girls' night, or guys' night and have a blast. The best moments in college are when you go out with friends and may (or may not) remember the night, but can wake up the next day laughing knowing you had a great time.

Finally, do not blow off your classes. Even though these are the last four years to live it up, there is a life after college. Your GPA does matter. You will regret it when you have to take a class over. Try your hardest, work hard, have tons of fun, and take advantage of what college has to offer. Trust me, it is a blast.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
