To The First Man To Ever Love Me

Thank you for never letting me hit the ground when I fall.

To The First Man To Ever Love Me
Ellen Gavigan

Daddy,

Thank you for teaching me to always get up once I’ve fallen down.

Thank you for teaching me that falling down or not succeeding at something does not mean I’m a failure.

Thank you for always pushing me to be and do my best.

Thank you for letting me be a daddy’s girl but also teaching me to stand up for myself and fight for what I want.

Thank you for never simply handing me anything in life, you’ve made me a stronger person because of it.

Thank you for setting an example for my brother and me on how a woman should be treated.

Thank you for all of the things that I’ve never said “thank you” for.

Thank you for listening to all of those awful times I thought I could play the violin…and then the guitar.

Thank you for picking me up when I couldn’t do it myself and helping me find the strength that I needed.

Thank you for always being a shoulder I could cry on.

Thank you for always being able to make me laugh, even when all I wanted was to cry.

Thank you for being the first man to love me unconditionally.

Thank you for always supporting me, even when you didn’t agree with me.

Thank you for getting on every last one of my nerves.

Thank you for everything I’ve forgotten and everything I will forget to thank you for.

Thank you.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
