Anyone who knows me personally knows that this past year has been one of the toughest years I've ever experienced. 2016 was a struggle with me being in and out of the hospital almost 8 times this year. It's crazy to think that I was completely fine at the beginning of this year, then all of a sudden, my health started to decrease. I was on tons of different medications that made me dizzy, nauseous, tired to the point where I was missing classes and somewhat depressed. I didn't think I would ever get better. At one point, I was taking 6 different medications. Once I started to feel somewhat better, another illness was added on. It was like my life was a roller coaster and I was never getting off of this ride. It didn't help that I was 3 hours away from the people I needed the most: my family. I am so grateful for those friends who stayed by my hospital bedside and helped me with whatever I needed. But what I am most grateful for is the doctors and nurses at Genesis Hospital in Davenport and Little Company of Mary in Chicago who took care of me. There was never a time that I was in the hospital that I didn't feel safe. These doctors and nurses took such great care of me and gave me their full attention like I was their own child. When I needed someone to talk to, they were there. When I needed a shoulder to cry on, they were there. They were the ones who helped me figure out what was wrong and helped me get on the right path to a healthier life. These doctors and nurses don't get enough recognition for all their hard work and dedication to complete strangers. Now, I'm on the right track to getting better and hoping to stay out of hospitals. But I wanted to write this to say a simple thank you for figuring out what was wrong and putting a stop to it, pretty much saving my life.
