You were the person that I always wanted to be in my life and I feel as if I haven’t spoken about you enough. You were taken too quickly from my life and I choose to remember the good moments we had together. I wanted to share the letter I wrote you. The letter informing you I was your big. The times when we were close were part of my favorite times last fall. I have random memories of you all the time. Chip, your other big, misses you too. I know that we had our huge falling out and you may not have forgiven me. I haven’t forgiven myself. You were the ball of fire that we all needed in TAZ and without you the family is, well... we miss you. So without ado here’s the corniest letter you’ll ever read.

Dear Melissa,

I want you to want me, and I need you to need me. I want you to be my Molly Ringwald to my Anthony Michael Hall. Not with the whole weird underwear thing in 16 Candles, but the actors always being around one another and being a Brat Pack duo. You are such a sweetheart and I want you to know that I mean this in the most sincerest of ways. Everyone’s sad they’re nacho Big, but Holy Guacamole I am so happy to call you my little. PS I’m Lauren “Anacondoms” Tomaszczuk. My order was perfect, because I got you as my FIRST EVER little and I don’t think you understand how special you are to me. Even more so now than before! I’m not like a regular Big, I’m a cool Big.

Tau Alpha Zeta has to be one of the luckiest organizations to be able to say that you pledge them. Clearly the odds were in our favor for getting someone as incredible as you. Allowing chance to make us sister, but choice made us friends. You have a fire under your butt that most people wish to have. Even though film class isn’t your favorite, you still work hard at your grades… just a bit at your own pace, which is absolutely amazing. I love how honest and candid you are, which is probably why I love you so much. It’s hilarious how you have a fear of your hopefully soon to be brother, but you still understand how adorable he is… and one day you’ll see him as a teddy bear I PROMISE.

I want you to know that it is my GOAL to be there for you. If you want to study for Ebiware’s tests or you have too many negative people in your life I’ll smack a bitch. I also don’t want to be super corny, but I knew that from the first day I met you that we would be Little and Biggie Smalls. I love how honest you are, and how you admit your fears. Not many people can say they’re scared of something, and I will make sure to always be there to help conquer your fears. Plus I’ll take a ton of pictures of our stupid moments together, which everyone needs.

“I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I know something is starting right now. Watch and you’ll see, so glad to be part of your world.” Yes I quoted the Little Mermaid, but it truly describes how excited I am to be your BIG. I want you to know that you are extremely loved not only by me, but by everyone in the TAZ family. So now that you not only have me, but everyone else.

You know there’s always going to be someone prettier, smarter, funnier, and younger than you, and I get to call her not only my sister, but my one and only Little. Continuing with the corny lines I call my feelings, out of all the littles in the see you’re the little just for me. I know that you are going to make a difference within TAZ or well the entire school as a whole. I see you break out of your self more and more every day and your self confidence just makes me want to like myself more. I will always be here to give you a pep talk before your big test or even if you want to just study for your quizzes. I know that you are extremely intelligent, though you do sell yourself short, but I will always be here to boost your ego! Know that you will never feel alone because no one will be an orphan in TAZ ever again, so thank you for making TAZ whole once again and giving me the opportunity to be your Big. My grandfather always told me to choose the best, and sweetheart you are it! Plus I mean we mermaid for each other. HAHA LOL I think I’m super cute, but not as cute as you! Even though we will be miles apart seeing how I’m from the Boston area and you’re from New York, know that we will still be close to the heart, well if I haven’t completely scared you away. Just remember that Lions don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep or frat boys. Looking forward to the rest of your TAZmanian life and our sisterhood.

Thank you for making my days in TAZ better and allowing me to remember the good memories I have with you. I’ll never be an orphan again because you made me whole even if there were times when we weren’t close. Families fight, but they always come around full circle and will drop anything for them. I’ll miss your sarcastic comments, your constant quoting of Buddy the Elf, and crazy stories. I'm going to miss your excitement when it came to talking about Ticonderoga, Peter Dinklage or your all time favorite movie, Elf. When I needed you last semester you were there and I just don't want to believe that you're gone. You were the voice of reason when I needed it and I like to think I was for you during your first semester. Our study dates and Big Little Lunch dates were always the best. You were my ranting buddy and you always made me laugh after I had just bawled my eyes out. You were the Scherbatsky to my Aldrin and I'll never forget you. Just know that everyone misses you and your song about the days of the week where you sang Tuesday like 7 different times. One day I’ll see you again and you won’t have a cold or tell me I can’t hug you. Every day you’re in my thoughts as well as everyone else’s.
