Dear Nursing Majors,
First of all, props. Nursing is a hard major whose prerequisite courses most often times want to make you pull your hair out. Excuse me, the hair follicles located in the reticular layer of the epidermis out.
Although the road to becoming a nurse is frustrating and challenging, the reward you will receive once you are a nurse is far more rewarding than imaginable. So, when you are pulling an all nighter the night of your next Chemistry exam, remember it is all worth it.
When you are learning topics you don't think you will ever have to know again, trust me, you will. You will be able to take what you learn and apply it to actual people's lives. I believe there is no greater feeling of service than being able to help someone who is unable to fully help themselves.
Secondly, thank you. Thank you for using your gifts and talents, for whatever reason you chose to become a nurse and to make a difference. Healthcare in our current society is difficult to have, and it is people like you who are the future of medicine. Without you, patients would not be able to receive the comfort and support they need.
Lastly, good luck. Wherever life takes you, whether it is a job in the nursing field or not, considering nursing as a career says a lot about a person. Just know the world is a better place because of people like you in it.
