Dear new members of my sorority,
Welcome to the best four years of your life. Just a few days ago, you signed a bid. You may have signed it because you were impressed with our sisterhood. You may have signed because you love the philanthropic work we do. You may have even signed because you didn’t like any other sorority. However, I don’t think you knew how much signing that piece of paper would impact your life.
You are now part of a sisterhood much bigger than yourself. You now have sisters who will be there for you through anything. Whether you don’t want to make a trip to the dining hall alone, you need to borrow shoes, or you just went through the worst heartbreak of your life and need someone by your side, your newfound sisters will be there.
You are now part of a sisterhood that has traditions that you will become a part of. You will learn about our founders, our past sisters, and our rituals. Even though you are brand new to this sorority, you will quickly become impacted and inspired by all that we do.
You are now part of a sisterhood that has values that you will learn to live by. We would be nothing without the morals that we abide by, and I hope you learn to live by them too. Living by this sorority’s values will change you for the better.
You were probably a little overwhelmed on bid day learning names, getting calendars, and playing icebreaker games. Though we will always have fun, you need to be ready for a few things. Be ready for an easy transition into your college career. Be ready for busy schedules. Be ready for memories you will cherish forever. Be ready to find mentors, support systems, and your best friends for life.
I could not be more proud to call you a new member of my sorority. I cannot wait to see what great things you do for this chapter, and I cannot wait for you to fall just as in love with this sisterhood as I am.
All my love,
A sister
