Dear 15 year old me,

Look at you. So much potential in your little naive body. I am about to break some news to you, and some of it you aren't gonna like. A lot of it is gonna be good, though. You're gonna learn a lot in the next five years and I want you to know that through all of it, it's gonna get better and He is still God.

First off, you're gonna make some friends. I know moving to a new state your freshman year is scaring you to death. New people, new scenery, and... are those cows in your back yard? It's weird, I know. You've been in suburbia your whole life and now you're in a whole new world. You're gonna make it though. You're going to make some of the greatest friends you've ever had. All of you will be inseparable, and have some really crazy sleepovers. You're not going to stay close through all of high school, however. You're all gonna grow into very different people, and that is OK. Some people are gonna get married, some pregnant, and some are unfortunately not going to make it to graduation. He is still God, though.

Second, you're going to get your heart broke. Twice. It's gonna hurt, a lot. Don't think twice about letting dad hold you. You're going to think you're dying at the time, but you're gonna get stronger. It's going to hurt your naive heart, but it's healthy. You need this. Besides, he's not good for you, anyway. Neither one. And remember.. He is still God.

Third, you're gonna get in trouble. A whole lot. Don't be petty with mom and dad. They love you. You're gonna break their heart a whole lot, but they still love you. They are the coolest people you'll ever meet. You're going to let yourself get exposed to things you said you would never do, but you're gonna survive it, and mom and dad are gonna find out about it, and you're gonna have to swallow your pride really hard and tell them the truth, but it's gonna bring you closer, I promise. Through it all though, He is still God.

Now you're a sophomore in college, you have the greatest friends of all time, and you're on your way to becoming very successful. You have a crappy job, and no money all the time, but you're not worried about that. You still don't really know what God's trying to do with your mess of a life, but you don't fret about tomorrow. You know why? Because HE IS STILL GOD. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow He is always the same, and He's gonna be with you through it all. You won't always see Him for what He is, but He is gonna love you through this crazy, bittersweet process of becoming me.

P.S. Don't cut your hair off junior year.... it's not a good look for you.

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
