An Open Letter To My Superwoman

Where do I begin?

You have such an amazing personality, heart and a sense of humor. Your smile lights up a room every time you walk in. I know we have gone through a lot lately, but you still keep on being strong. When I need you, you are always there. You are a superwoman, and I don't know how you do it. When things go wrong, you are still strong. You do anything for your family, and just know you are appreciated every single day. It doesn't take one day to realize how great of a mom you are. You push me and Michael to do the best we can. If something goes wrong, you are there to guide us. You tell us that we can do better next time if we don't do well on a test or just keep on going if something happens to us at work or at school. We might not do the things you want, but just know we will do our chores or help you with anything you need.

We are your children who will always be there for you no matter what. You mean so much to me and you are always making the negatives into positives. I thank you for each and every day you make into a better one. You always make me happy when you smile, make me laugh when you act silly and help me when you can. I know you are trying so much to take care of Michael and I on your own, but I know that you will save the day.

Thank you for everything. Happy Mother's Day.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
