An Open Letter To My Sisters Of Alpha Xi Delta
Lauren Brocious

Dear sisters of Alpha Xi Delta,

About 4 months ago, I took a chance and showed up to informal recruitment scared out of my mind. High school was rough for me and I didn’t get along with many girls in my hometown. I walked into the venue and was prepared to open myself up to these new people. I saw another girl, standing similar to me. She was visibly anxious. I walked up and introduced myself. Her name was Katie. That was also my little sister’s name. Little did I know I would be getting another sister named Katie. Katie and I walked up stairs where all of the sisters were sitting. We were immediately greeted by five sisters with handshakes, hugs, and infectious smiles. I knew right then that this is where I belonged. After talking to these girls and meeting the president, Shayla, I knew these were the girls I wanted to call my sisters and find a permanent home with.

In the months sincet, I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most kindest, thoughtful, and inspirational ladies. These ladies have done nothing but love and encourage me to reach my potential. They have given me hugs and words of encouragement whenever I’ve needed it. Whenever I’m walking around campus, they always greet me with a friendly hello and a big smile. For the first time in my life, I have a sense of belonging, a sense of friendship, a sense of sisterhood.

I wanted to take this time that I have to thank my sisters for everything they have provided me with. Their love, their kindness, and their compassion. I am grateful to call you my sisters and to have this special bond that is unbreakable. In the future, I want nothing more than to help build and better the organization of Alpha Xi Delta and to encourage others to reach their full potential, just as you did for me. From the bottom of my heart, I love this organization with all of my being. I cannot express how excited I am to wake up every morning and to realize I am an Alpha Xi.

Thank you,

Kate A, Emily, Victoria, Laycee, Kate B, Caitlin, Sam, Katherine C, Ana, Nina, Megan C, Alyssa D, Emma D, Megan D, Liz F, Sarah, Danielle, Jasmine F, Michelle G, Haley, Aylssa, Shanya, Justine, Brittany, Valerie, Abby, Iliana, Michelle H, Courtney, Lauren H, Sarah, Baleigh, Jasmine J, Baylee, Monica, Christy J, Erika, Alexis, Alea, Alyssa, Vy, Ashley, Bryanna, Emma Manis, Emma Marcus, Erin M, Mallory, Lea, Megan M, Cami, Bernadette, Elizabeth, Maryanne, Katie, Julia, Emily, Margaret, Ayisha, Ella, Annie, Erin R, Devin, Victoria, Shayla, Hannah, Erin S, Kari, Chayla, Tori, Vanessa, KK, Ali, Shelby, Liz W, Laura, Christy Y, and Sierra.

Much love,

Lauren Brocious

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
