Thank you for being you.

An Open Letter To My Roommate
Alexandra Thomas

When living in a very confined space, it is important to have a roommate who supports you and is willing to go to any length to ensure not only your happiness, but also your sanity and your GPA. So here's an open letter to my roommate for being all of those things for me.

Thank you for waking me up for my 8 am classes. Without you doing that, I can't promise that I would make it there. Thank you for coming to the dining hall with me, even if it means you eating a third dinner, just so I don't have to sit alone while I eat. Thank you for doing homework with me until 2 in the morning because we decided to host a game night instead of doing it at a normal hour. Thank you for sitting in the laundry room with me at any time of the day, even when all you want to do is shower and go to sleep. Thank you for proofreading my articles before they get posted, and taking a random class you don't need so I don't have to suffer through it alone. Thank you for putting up with my many personalities, dependent upon my mood. Thank you for keeping track of all of the boys I find attractive, and always asking for updates on how things are going with them. Thank you for befriending my friends, and taking them in as your own that way no one ever has to feel left out. Thank you for listening to Broadway and making cheesy DIYs with me to make sure our room is good enough to show off. Thank you for bringing me your dogs so I can pet them, and adopting me into your family (including bringing me on a family vacation). Thank you for doing nails with me at 1 am and making sure everyone knows that I'm the one who spilled glitter all over our room. Thank you for texting me reminders about my appointments so I don't forget to go to them, because we both know I will. Thank you for trying to convince me that I'm not a potato and making me feel like I actually have a chance to fall in love and be as happy as Blair and Chuck when they weren't trying to make each other miserable. Thank you for making me laugh until my abs hurt and helping to ensure a full stock of our favorite flavors of Ben & Jerry's in the freezer just in case one of us is stressed. I apologize that you have to listen to my alarm go off ten times every morning before I eventually get annoyed and just get out of bed. I'm sorry for forever bringing people back to our room and forgetting to ask. But most of all I'm thankful that I found you. Thank you for showing me how it feels to find a best friend within your roommate, and allowing me to create a lifelong bond that you only see in the movies that I never truly thought I would find.

XOXO,

Gossip Squirrel.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
