Dear Mom,
Thank you. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. I know it’s cliché, but I really can’t comprehend how much you’ve sacrificed for me or put into words how grateful I am for you. I am so impressed by your courage, strength, dignity, intelligence and integrity of heart. You are truly my hero.
Thank you for loving me so unconditionally during high school. Through all of my complaining, crying sessions, late nights and much more, you were wonderful and supportive. You have pushed me towards success in school and in life through your encouragement and your example. I’m so proud of who you are and so proud to call you mom.
I want you to know how sorry I am for any and all of the times I wasn’t as cool to you as you deserved. You are infinitely cooler than me, and it honors me to spend time with you. Thank you so much, Mom, for being not only my mom but also for being the coolest and most influential friend I have ever had.
Whenever I need a friend, you are there. When I need to cry and eat ice cream, you are there. I love our long talks. When I need advice, you know just what to say. When I need gas money or am struggling financially, you are so generous. I know this seems like something shallow to say, but I appreciate your willingness and generosity to help me when I need it — you never fail to take care of me. In your willingness to give, you've shown me how to be generous to others and how to value gifts from others. You have made me into a better human being just by surrounding me in your goodness.
I love your laugh, your sense of humor, your goofy smile when we video chat and your thoughtfulness.
I cannot tell you how beautiful, admirable and incredible you are. You truly make this earth a better place, Mom, and I’m just so glad I have a nice view of you as you change the world day in and day out. I love you.
Love your poor, thankful, admiring college student.
