An Open Letter To My Lovely Ladies
Lindsey Hardesty

To the ladies I could not survive a day without,

Just know that I am currently singing the lyrics to the famous Miley Cyrus song, "True Friend",

"You don't get angry
When I change the plans
Somehow you're never out
Of second chances
You Won't say "I told you"
When I'm wrong again
I'm so lucky
That I found
A true friend
"

Or, if you did not like that one, I am also singing, "Wannabe", thanks to the Spice Girls,

"So here's a story from A to Z, you wanna get with me you gotta listen carefully,
We got Em in the place who likes it in your face,
we got G like MC who likes it on an
Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady,
and as for me you'll see,
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around"

because I am so happy to have you in my life. I know you have read hundreds of articles about what a best friend means to you, but here is another one. You ladies deserve to hear how amazing you are and how much you mean to me- EVERY DAY.

You all are the perfect friends, and when I say perfect, I mean imperfect people who are perfect for my lifestyle. You really are the chicken to my nugget or mac to my cheese (sorry, running out of foods I like).

I appreciate you ladies for always being there for me. There is nothing better than picking up ice cream after a bad day and having someone to talk to. No matter if that vent session consists of talking about the same guy I have talked about the last fourteen weeks or a bad grade on a test I studied hard for, you allow me to snuggle with you and be sad about it for a few minutes. It is the fact that you all drop everything just to see me ugly cry.

I appreciate you ladies for letting me make my own decisions. No one likes a friend that tells them what to do, as they may think they know what is best for you. You let me talk it out and try it, unless it is an absolutely horrible idea (will not name those ideas). If it turns out bad, you might quietly say, "I told you so," or tell an honest opinion, but at least you are comforting about it and allow me to learn from it.

I appreciate you ladies for being uplifting. You compliment me more than any man has ever complimented me (what great taste you have). Like, really, what guy compliments your eye dimples? You make sure that I am happy, no matter the circumstances, and if I am not, you find a way. You all are always wanting the best for me.

I appreciate you ladies for tagging along at events. It means the world to me when you do not hesitate to join me for a Best Buddies meeting or some theatre event I have to go to for class. You do not even complain when I take you away from your homework to watch the sun go down at the river.

I appreciate you ladies for forgiving me. I mean, honestly, it is not possible for me to be angel every day. Especially when it comes to that time of month; it is even worse when we are on the same cycle! Some days, I am stressed, tired or in a funk and can radiate that negative energy towards you all. Instead, you tell me to take a nap, eat or go to the gym, because you know it will get rid of my attitude...or so you hope. Sometimes, or always, I am indecisive and change plans for the third time in two minutes. I know that is so annoying, so thank you for dealing with it and still wanting to make plans with me in the future.

I appreciate you ladies for accepting my quirks. Everyone is different, that is what makes the world so beautiful. But, my quirks are just a little too much for people. Not you all, though. You support my goat obsession or my need to dance in the middle of a room, knowing I am bad at it.

I appreciate you ladies for being my number one fans. You are the first to call or text me about work, a test I recently took or date that I went on. You love to hear the details. And I mean, all the details. You send me motivating texts or quotes to get me through a big or important day. Lastly, I love that you all are just as excited as I am about my future.

I just really appreciate you all. You all inspire me to become a better person.

You ladies are stuck with me, but I know you would not have it any other way.

Love,

Your Best Gal Pal

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

StableDiffusion

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
