An Open Letter To My Lifelong Bestfriend
Brigid Zarrick

Dear My Lifelong Best Friend,

You are my past, present, and future. You’ve seen me through all my ups, my downs, and all of my awkward phases. I want to thank you for standing by me because looking back, I don’t even know if I would have. You have grown to be more than just a friend to me, you are a sister.

You are someone who I can always count on. Things change, but I know I can always count on you. We have experienced some huge changes together, but we are something that is unchangeable. Whether we spend one day apart, or one hundred, we always start right where we left off. And I love that about us.

Thanks for standing by me when I shopped at, Limited Too. When I played with my Webkinz more than you. And all of the phases in between.

I am so proud of the people we have turned out to be. I didn’t realize it when it was happening, but we have really grown up. And we still have a lot of growing up to do. We went from awkward little people who barely had our own opinions, to two grown people who are ready to handle adulting to the best of our abilities. And I am beyond glad to have you to go through life with.

I am so thankful for all of the memories we have had together. Some sad times, some horribly embarrassing times, and some absolutely amazing times. I will never forget any of them. Not only do I want to thank you for all of the significant times that will forever be in my memory, I also want to thank you for all of the times we just experienced nothing together. Even though I may not be able to pull out a specific one in my memory, I am so thankful for all the days we sat around together doing nothing, eating everything, or even just mutually napped.

You are not a guest at my house anymore, you are family. I mean, you really don’t even have to knock anymore. I am so glad that the guest stage ended so long ago. I never have to offer you something to drink, or something to eat. You know where my cups are, and you know how to work my oven and microwave just as well as I do.

Thanks for being the cream to my oreo, and the puzzle piece that matches mine.

Promises made by children usually aren’t kept, because they are made without thinking. However, when I said you would be my best friend forever, I couldn’t have meant it more. Back then, I didn’t even realize what forever meant, but knowing now, I’m ready to take that on with you. Thanks for being that person to me, I love you more than words, or cheesy articles can say.

Love,

Your Forever Best Friend

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
