My Beloved History major,

Words cannot express how much I adore thee. You have given me so much in the academic world and I will never be able to fully thank you. With you, we have discovered the world in a new light which has not only inspired me to travel and discover the world, but also to look at different cultures in a new light. I know that sometimes, you are seen as one of the most boring things out there, but please don't let that discourage you. With history, I can see something as boring as an old spreadsheet with weird text on it as a treasure map to find the truth. I can be so many things through my major.

I can be a historian.

I can be a teacher.

I can be a professor.

I can work with major companies to work with their history and documents.

I can work in archival research.

I can work in museums.

I can work with archaeologists.

I can work with anthropologists or linguists or ...

I have so many opportunities available to me, and all I have to do is look and it is all thanks to this major. I have been given the skills to do so many thing and to that, I am eternally grateful.

My lovely history major, you are my door to success and have shown me my academic oasis. I will continue to work hard and acknowledge your teachings as I continue past undergrad, because I know what I want to do, and where I want to go because of you. I thank you.

Gratefully yours,

Genovee Dominguez

Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
