An Open Letter To My Guy In The Sky

Don't let what you go through, define who you are.

An Open Letter To My Guy In The Sky

I miss you... all the time.

Some days are harder than others, but not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.

When someone asks the question, “If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?” I pick you every time. I feel like the time we had, wasn’t enough. It will never be enough.

I wish you could be here for all the little things, and I look for your face in the crowd during the big things. My story, it isn’t a story without you. You have taught me so much and I hope that you know that you influence everything I do and every part of me.

Be True.

Whether it’s something I want to achieve or just want in life, you showed me that I can’t suppress anything and I need to face it head on. Be passionate and don’t give up until you get what you want. Strive for greatness, and when I fall short, I know that you are watching over me waiting to see me stand back up. You never let life beat you down; you stood time and time again and never gave up without a fight.

Be Kind.

I’m guilty of taking things out on people, and this lesson has taken a really long time to realize, but while doing what you want, think of others. Consider feelings and opinions. Don’t jump to conclusions and forgive. Be truly sorry, and learn from your mistakes, and express how you feel. Be compassionate and helpful. You never failed, even when you suffered, you never failed to offer it up and be your best self.

Be Fearless.

Try new things and take risks. If you fail, rise; if you succeed, be humble; if you don’t know what to do, breathe. The unknown of life is scary, but you taught me that you need to hold on to the people you love for dear life. Don’t fear death because it’s inevitable, live the life you want and fear nothing. You never let me see fear in your eyes, I saw love, and I hope to be as strong as you were.

Love.

Think about what to do before you do it. Life is so unbelievable short, and your actions reflect who you are as a person. Be smart and don’t be afraid to show people who you are. Be intelligent and be proud of anything and everything you do. Love everything and everyone, even when you don’t want to. You showed me what love can do, and I wish you were here to see me have that.

Be Okay.

I have to believe that someday soon, I will truly believe in this lesson. You are at peace, and no matter how much I wish you were here, knowing that you are safe and happy and free of pain; it will be okay. Cherish the people you have, because in a blink of an eye, you might not have them. I cannot wait for the day that I see you again and I get to just smell you and hear your voice.

Hardships, don’t define who you are, it’s what you do after them that shows you what kind of person you’ll be. Life is difficult, but the only direction from losing someone you love, it up. You may struggle to understand, and you learn, and for that, be grateful.

I love and miss you every single day. 143 Pop <3

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
