An Open Letter To My Guy Best Friend

Is that your boyfriend or your best friend?

Dear Guy Best Friend,

Although we talk quite a bit, and hangout often, I know I don’t give you the recognition that you deserve. There are so many things that you do for me that you don’t have to, but yet you choose to anyway. I want you to know how truly grateful I am for you and how much I enjoy having you as a best friend.

So best friend- Thank You.

Thank you for the all of the random adventures. No matter if its 2 in the afternoon or 2 a.m. you're always up for little road trips, Walmart runs and ice cream. I know I can count on you to have my back to do some dumb things with.

Thank you for the laughs. When I’m with you, I know I’m guaranteed to have endless laughs. When I’m in a bad mood I know I can count on you to cheer me up, or at least try.

Thank you for being there through all of the ups and downs. You are there all hours of the night when I need someone to talk to and always give me your honest opinion. You’ve stuck through all of the girl drama, mood swings, and my indecisive decisions and I know that takes a lot.

Thank you for never judging me. You’ve seen me when I look homeless and still accept me as me. Even when I say or do something really embarrassing, you are still somehow proud to be my friend.

Thank you for being a constant wingman. Having you as a best friend can be tough when I see a cute guy out in public, but I know I can count on you for being the best wingman possible.

Thank you for always giving me a male perspective. When I don’t know what to say to a guy, how to dress, or just need a guy’s opinion on something, I know you’ll give me a brutally honest answer.

Thank you for always supporting me. With every decision I make, you are always right there next to me encouraging me. You want me to be successful and the best me that I can be.

Thank you for breaking the stereotype of “guys and girls can’t be best friends without liking each other”. Our friendship is one of my favorites and is one of the most genuine things in life. You are like a brother and we clearly act like it with all of our petty arguments.

Ultimately thank you for just being you. Without you, life would be such a quieter, sad place, and I’m beyond thankful for you. I know I can be a lot to handle and of course annoying, so thank you for putting up with me.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
