"I don't have to say a word. She just looks at me and sees who I am and how I feel and accepts it. She doesn't try to change it or want to change it. That person is special. There's a billion people but there's only one that I would call if murdered someone, to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She's my person." - Shonda Rhimes

My Person,

I am writing to you to say thank you. You have been my constant supporter throughout my entire life. Every tear that I have ever cried you have been there to wipe away, every laugh I've ever laughed you were probably the one making the joke, every time my life has ever crumbled to pieces you were the one who put it back together. I don't care who you are, we all have a person that we rely on for everything, a person who you cant imagine your life without, or just a person who likes to occasionally binge watch Netflix with you and obscene amounts of cookie dough with. This person has learned to deal with your crazy and has never tried to change you. This is the person who when you fight, you fight hard because what your fighting about probably matters and one of you is probably really hurt. This is the person who you call up at two in the morning when you and your boyfriend fought again and they listen as you sob about the same old story over and over again. They don't ever complain and you should thank them for that. This is also the person you call when you get the new job, or got an A on the test you've been studying for weeks for, and they are usually more excited than you are. When you decide on a whim that you should buy a cat they are either going to encourage you full force, be the reason behind it, or talk you out of it. And you should probably listen to them because they know you better than you know yourself. When you are crying on the bathroom floor, holding your life together with tape and glue, they come and sit with you until you are ready to be you again. You know all of those crazy dreams you have, tucked up inside they are the only ones who know those crazy dreams. And you know what, they aren't going to think those dream are that crazy, they are going to push you higher and higher to achieve all of your dreams and they probably wont let you quit until you do so. They are the person who goes on midnight Walmart runs with you, when you decide that really all you need to make your room complete is a new rug. They are also the ones who are going to take you out to ice cream and make you forget that you have tests to study for...at least for a little while. When we get a little moody and sometimes a little sassy, you know when to throw the sass right back and when to just leave us alone. It doesn't matter if the person lives a million miles away or in the room next door, they are going to drop everything and be there for you. For all of life's terribly hard decisions like if you should change your major, transfer schools, get a fifth job, get a puppy, or even if you should got to Chipotle or Noodles for dinner; they are the ones who are going to talk you through that decision. They are the most brutally honest people we have, they will tell you when you look ugly, when you need to get your life together and when you are just acting dumb. Sure, it might seem harsh at first but be thankful that you have someone who is willing to be honest with you. Go hug your person, or give them a call. or at least tell them you love them. Because, who else is going to have random dance parties with you, or make you laugh until you pee, or love you even when you are at your worst. Always remember, no matter how much you need your person, they also need you.

You're my person. You will always be my person.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
