An Open Letter To My Friends And Sorority Sisters

My friends are by far the coolest people in the world and they should know it.

Dear friends and Sorority Sisters,

As I start to pack for Winter break, I've been reflecting on this past semester. We have experienced some amazing things together. I honestly do not know how I could've managed to make it through this semester without each and every one of you.

The late night Netflix screenings, all nighters, sizzler dates, and long drives full of jam sessions are what I will be looking forward to most over this month off.

I want all of you to know that you mean more to me than words can describe. You accept my horribly sarcastic sense of humor and my incredibly lazy tendencies. It takes a lot for me to trust people and I hope you all know that I trust you with my entire life!

You know exactly how to cheer me up when I am having a bad day, especially when it comes to tagging me in funny videos on Facebook. You all know when I am making a bad choice or need to reevaluate how I am feeling about something, and I appreciate you always looking out for me.

Thank you all for catching me when I fall, physically and literally. Thank you for reminding me that I have something to do that day. Thank you for bringing medicine and food when I am sick. Thank you for making me laugh so hard I cry. All in all, thank you for being you.

You have become a family to me, and a home away from home. All of you have a special and unique place in my heart. I have never been more proud to brag about a group of friends than I am about you. I will miss all of you so much over the break and I cannot wait to make even more ridiculous memories.

Yours Truly,

Me

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
