To My First College Friends,
Where do I begin? I have so much to thank you guys for, but don’t even know where to start. I guess I should say thank you for being there from the very beginning, or for always being down for anything. But you’ve all done so much more than that.
Thank you for helping me find myself. Adjusting to college can be hard, but you guys made it so much easier. I had no idea some of the very first people I met in college would still be here for me two years later, but thank God, you guys still are. You have all held me as I’ve cried and have helped me learn what I am capable of in life. That means so much more than I could ever describe.
Thank you for understanding my lame sense of humor. We can be completely honest here. My sense of humor is the worst (but also the best, because we still cry laughing over the same exact things we bonded over from the very start). I make some pretty lame dad jokes at times, and for some reason, you have all kept me around. Thank you for that.
Thank you for always listening. I tend to vent about a lot of things (mostly always school…actually, always school. Who am I kidding?) and you guys have never judged me for it. Thanks for even providing me with some solid advice when I’ve needed it. Even when you didn’t know what to say, the fact that you were always down to listen to whatever I needed to talk about was more than enough.
Thank you for being more than just my first college friends. I’ve met a lot of people who no longer talk to people they were friends with freshman year. I can’t imagine that. I know you guys won’t just be my college friends, either. I know that even years from now we’ll be able to call each other and pick up right where we left off. It really is a blessing that I’ve found such wonderful people to be friends with from the very beginning, and I know I won’t ever take that for granted.
I can go on and on, so I’ll go ahead and sum it all up right here: Thank you guys.
Really. I mean it.
Love,
Your Lifelong Friend
