Dear Big Brother,

You are the biggest peasant I've ever had to deal with in my whole entire life. But you're my peasant and I wouldn't trade you for anyone in the world – I guess. We may not have always been the best of friends, but now that we're older, I'm glad you have realized how cool and awesome your little sister is. I know you enjoy having me in your life not only as a sister but also as a friend. Growing up with you may not have been the easiest, but it sure has taught me some lessons.

Thanks for practicing all of those wrestling moves on me. You know, like the choke slam, or that elbow thing. I'm not even going to talk about how you made up your own move trying to absorb me. But as a result of that, I'm pretty tough now. If any boy ever tries to but his hands on me, I don't think he'll be prepared for what I'm going to do to him. I guess I have you to thank for that.

Thanks for never letting me win in any video games we played. Even if I begged, pleaded, you still didn't let me win. Remember that one time when you wanted to show how much better you were than me in Super Smash Bros Melee that you left the room with the wireless control and you were still somehow able to beat me? Good times....for you. But if I'm being honest, you are the best and by playing the best and constantly losing, you eventually get better. So I guess I got better (years later) because I can beat you in smash now – in yo face. While we're on the topic of games, though, thanks for letting me copy you and play all the games you played (but if I remember correctly you hated that I copied you so much). But since I did copy you so much I was able to know about games like Smash, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Donkey Kong countries 1-3 for SNES. Who would've known that the friends I've made in college play or like most of those games too. I actually became friends with them by playing Super Smash Brothers.

And then there were my guinea pigs. Thanks for....well yeah there's no lesson to be learned from that story moving on.....

Not only have I learned a lot from you big peasant brother, but we've also had a lot of fun times together. Like Christmas shopping together every year (even though we always ended up fighting). Or all of our car rides together aka Z time, my favorite time. But then there was that one car ride we had together that I'm pretty sure you and I are never going to forget. Good times. We also go to movies and dinner together. Or to amusement parks and ride all of the rollercoasters. We watch old episodes of Spongebob together and laugh at the same parts every time. I wonder where our relationship would be without Spongebob honestly....

I can't say that we've gone to concerts together because you're a peasant and didn't want to go to the Drake and Future concert with me....but who needs to see them when I have an older brother who can spit rhymes just as good (did I say that right? Let's pretend I did).

So I guess what I am trying to say, is that you're a pretty awesome, and I am lucky to have you as a big brother. I love you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
