Look at everyone around you.

Breathe

Nothing is quite as bad as it seems.

Sometimes you need to slow down and look at life. It may seem like this is the end of the world, but I promise you it gets better. You'll see that the people you thought were really cool and realize that they're not cool anymore. They went off into their own path of life, and if for some reason they cross yours, they won't look at you like the loser you were in middle school, they'll see you as the confident woman you are today.

Surprisingly, you'll still have a lot of the same friends today as you have now. Some of them may come and go, but you always knew which ones were here to stay. Some of them will probably get fed up with you around 14, but that's another open letter for another day.

I know you always wanted to have a boyfriend for at least two years but guess what, WE MADE IT TO THREE! He's everything you could picture yourself having at 21, and more. Remember when you imagined a beautiful guy coming to your door with flowers for no reason? Well, it actually happens!

I know how badly you want to sing. I know how badly you want to be on stage. I know how badly you want a lead in that show. It doesn't happen for a while but I promise you, I never gave up on our dream. You will work hard to find your voice, and when you finally do, you'll get all of the leads you deserve. We just got our first out of college show that actually pays! Think about it, getting to do what you love and getting money for it? It's the dream.

I know how horrible you did in school. I get it, whats the use of trying when you're studying things you don't care about? But get this, everything changes in college. In college, you never fail a test, actually, you get mostly straight A's. You even got an A in math! Weird, right?

I know money is tough, but money isn't everything. Money is just...money. And you even have your own job! Money will be tough at times, but you can't ever let it get to you. You don't need money to have fun, or to be yourself.

Last but not least, no matter what people say, or what people call you, you will make it through. You will be strong. Don't ever stop caring about people as much as you do, it's who you are.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
