To My Dorm Neighbors,
Remember when we weren't friends? Yeah, now I can't imagine what living on our floor would be like without you. On day 1, I didn't know that we were going to become friends -- heck, even the first week or so of school was debatable, but look at us now! You used to be just "the ones who live on my floor", but now I know what song is currently "your jam", your favorite shows to watch on Netflix, and what your different "moods" really mean - now, we're so much more than just friends; we're a family.
We didn't plan for you guys to be on our floor, but I thank God every day that that's how it worked out. We made it past the slightly awkward, "Hey, I live on this floor, too. What room number are you?"s, and, "So, what's your schedule(s) look like this semester?"s, and now you better believe I'll invite myself into your room unannounced like it's my own room. Whether we're going to dinner together, out at a party, at a football game, watching Netflix together, or just hanging out and talking, it's little things like that with you guys that I appreciate the most - even though I don't always say it out loud.
You've seen me at the crack of dawn with my bird-nest-like hair and anti-morning attitude before our early classes, my delirious "maybe-it's-time-for-me-to-go-to-bed" once we've been hanging out really late, and who knows how many other crazy moods. Like Marilyn Monroe once said, "..If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best". Trust me, you've definitely seen me at plenty of my worsts, and you already know that our room will always be there for yours, too. Sometimes you forget just how much can happen/change within a year, and how nice it is to not only have great roommates to help you with the changes but people on your floor too.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, from our room to yours, we love you so much and couldn't imagine this year without you so near and dear to not only our room but our hearts as well (not to get too sappy on you). They say you meet some of the best people in college, and after meeting you guys, I couldn't agree more.
XOXO,
Your dorm neighbors
