Thank you for being the sisters I never had.

When I first met you, I was pretty much terrified. Being a sister myself, I know how protective we are of our siblings. Big sisters have always scared me, but this time, there were two of you and that was just the icing on the cake. Thankfully, I had nothing to be afraid of and a year and a half later we’ve never been so close. So here’s to you, for being the sisters that I never had.

First, I want to thank you for letting me love your little brother. I know that he is your partner in crime, number one fan, best friend, occasional tutor, base to your three-person high piggyback and you love him more than anything in the world. Letting another girl into his life is hard, but I’m thankful that you allowed it to happen. Without him, I don’t know what I would do. And without you guys, I’d be lost too.

Thank you for including me in all of the family things. Camping trips, shopping adventures, birthdays, family dinners, we do it all! I love coming over when everyone is home, binge watching Friends, sharing stories, playing games, discussing our relationships, complaining about work and school and doing all the things that sisters are supposed to do with each other. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have such an extended wardrobe. I know your parents are happy to be getting clothes out of the house, but mine are feeling quite the opposite. Me on the other hand, I’m just happy to get hand me downs that aren’t from the men’s department.

Thank you for being the sisters that I never had. Growing up in a house with two older brothers was the best. I’ll say it, I’m the princess who had the coolest brothers in the world, but now I can say that I have the coolest sisters too. I think "I’m glad that my parents never had another daughter," because I don’t think we’d have the same relationship that we do today. You have become such a big part of my daily life and who I am, and I can’t thank you enough for being the role models that you are. Even though you might not know it, I definitely look up to you. You’re always positive and looking on the bright side of things and I admire that. Even if the bright side of things is a McDouble for breakfast, I dig it.

Finally, thank you for the memories, inside jokes, piles of clothing, caring for me, loving me and most importantly, thank you for being a constant reminder that I always have someone to rely on. You’ll never truly know how much I appreciate you and how lucky I am to have you. Even though we’ve only known each other for a short time, it feels like I’ve been a part of your family for a lifetime and I will always cherish that feeling. So here’s to you, the sisters I never had.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
