Dear big brother,
If there is one thing that I do not do enough, it is thank you. Not just for having my back, but for having the backs of all the people you surround yourself with. I am not the only one who has you as their ICE contact on their phone because you are that guy, the guy who is always there to help.
I cannot imagine my life without you in it. Who would be there to teach me the rules of various ridiculous college card games or annoy me about keeping my GPA up now that I'll be living on campus? Who would come rescue me from a horrible date or stay up with me until 5 a.m. while I'm studying for a biology test when you don't even have a test to study for? Who else would give me (the person who hates being touched) the absolute biggest and most annoying hugs ever EVERY time you see me?
There is something about our bond that I cannot explain, which sounds so incredibly cheesy. In fact, you are probably laughing at the screen right now reading this, but we both know you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Sadly, not everyone gets to have you as a big brother (well, I guess it's sad for them), but everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting you knows that you are one of the most down-to-earth human beings to ever live. You are intelligent, funny and nice. Now wonder the girls can't get enough of you. So this is me saying thank you for everything you do, but also apologizing in advance. Because guess what? I'm that annoying sister. I will ask you 1,000 questions about the girl you went on one date with just to make sure she's worthy. I will make you text me when you get back home safely when you are driving late. I will make you practice your job interviewing skills on me before you go to your real one. I will yell at you when you fail your test, miss a family even, or start dating someone new without telling me.
Even though I'm apologizing, I'm not really sorry. Think of it as more of a warning. I love you to the moon and back. So no girl, job or grade will ever be good enough. I will always expect more of you because you are my big brother and I look up to you more than just about anyone else. The bars you set for yourself are bars I will set for myself, too. So keep them high and keep being the great guy everyone knows you are.
Thanks for being you and being one of the only people I can 100 percent count on all the time. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you, but I know it is greatness because it runs in the family.
