What this unique relationship has shown me.

An Open Letter To My Big

Disclaimer: All of the relationships I've made within my sorority mean the world to me but I want to focus on one in particular - my relationship with my big.

Notorious B.I.G. -

First off, thank you for helping me forge my own path; while including me as a part of yours. Thank you for teaching me that it's okay to rely on other people when you can't figure it all out alone. Thank you for enhancing my experience within our own sorority and helping me take advantage of the many opportunities I never would have thought to explore. Thank you for not only being someone to support me, but someone to push me. Thank you for setting the bar high and helping me do the same. Thank you for accepting me as my own person and giving me short-cuts and helpful advice; but also goading me to figure it out. Thank you for showing me that our sorority is so important, but the lessons we learn from it are more important: outside of these four years. Thank you for seamlessly being both a friend and a mentor; making sure I don't take myself too seriously but also being there when I need serious help. Thank you for being a human being and admitting your faults, so you can help me work on mine.

Finally - thank you for being an outstanding g-big to my rock-star little (shout-out)

- Smallz

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
