An Open Letter To My Best Friend Before I Go Back To College

Let's be real. It's hard not seeing you after only a few days.

(I apologize if you thought this was for you - my human best friend - because this is actually for my dog.)

Dear Best Friend,

I know you can't technically read this and I still wonder every single day if you can understand me when I talk to you, but I can't thank you enough for spending time with me this summer. I'm going to miss your cute face and cute ears and the way you tilt your head when I ask you questions you can't answer. I'll miss the way your tail wags with excitement and how hyper you get when I say, "You want dinner?" or "Wanna go on a walk?" Don't even get me started on how much I'll miss having you sleep at my feet and then giving me kisses to wake me up at a reasonable time.

While I'm going to miss all the time I had with my cute and adorable dog, I have to be honest. There are things you do that I won't miss. Like how you tend to ignore me when mom and dad come home, or when the tiniest noise makes you decide you want to bark like a crazy, insane canine which forces me to pause my current episode of Grey's Anatomy. Let's not forget all the times you beg and pester me when you know it's almost time for dinner. (Okay, that's cute, too, but it also drives me nuts.) Oh, and when you cry and whine for attention to a point were I can't do a thing until I give you a treat. (Seriously, stop jumping on me and clawing at me.)

Just to inform you, I'll be taking hundreds of pictures of you to put up all over my room. I can't wait for the first time I will home and being able to see you. You're always jumping up and welcoming me home, giving me the love I know you've missed giving me. Don't worry, I'll take you on walks and play with you, despite the fact that you don't understand the concept to fetch, when I see you again.

Until then, I love you forever,

Your favorite human sibling.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
