Dear Mom,

I'd like to start off by saying that I hope this makes up for missing spending Mother's Day with you for the first time ever this year. Unfortunately, college takes me away from the holidays and family celebrations. But let's not dwell on the sad stuff! Words cannot even begin to describe how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I am a very lucky girl to have you as a role model and also a best friend. You are very special to me, and I am exceedingly grateful that God gave me you. You love without boundary and have the biggest heart. There are so many things I want to thank you for so here they are!

Thank you for your constant support. You always tell me that the sky is the limit and that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I can always come and vent to you and know that you are listening. You are there to lift me up when I am feeling down, and you know how to put a smile on my face.

Thank you for always boosting my confidence. You never let me down when it comes to letting me know that I look beautiful or in a gown or T-shirt and jeans. You remind me that I can be myself and love every part of myself. You have supported me every time I've dyed my hair (and we both know it's getting out of hand). You let me know when certain things don't really look good on me, but that's OK because I know you are just looking out for me.

Thank you for being my best friend. You make me laugh and are my partner in crime. I love our shopping sprees and fun adventures. You are always there to listen and you give great hugs! I love cooking with you and watching "Say Yes to the Dress" together. We have a very special bond that nothing and no one can come between. I can constantly count on you to go on late-night ice cream trips with and to buy new shoes! You never turn down wanting to watch our favorite chick flicks together. You are someone I can always depend on.

Thank you for being an awesome role model. You are the perfect role model in my eyes. You are independent and have made your dreams come true. Mom, you are the strongest person I know. Even though you are hurting, you manage to keep a smile on your face. We have been through deaths, but you manage to be my shoulder to cry on. You don't let other people walk all over you, and you always stand up for yourself. I hope to be as strong of a woman as you are as I grow older.

I just want to thank you for being the best mother in the world and for doing all the things you do for our family. You are one-of-a-kind, and I cannot imagine living without you.

I love you more than there are stars in the sky. Thanks for being you!

Love,

Your favorite daughter

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
