An Open Letter To My Adoring Mom

There aren't enough thank you's in the world to tell you grateful I am to call you Mom.

An Open Letter To My Adoring Mom

Mom,

Words do not even begin to describe the appreciation that I have for you. It is no secret to this world that you are one of the most beautiful human beings to ever walk this earth. I would bet my life that I am not the only one that feels that way. The light and love that you bring to a room is nothing short of irreplaceable.

Thank you for laughing with me so hard that we fall to the floor with tears streaming down our faces.

Thank you for making me get up and be productive even when it's the last thing I want to do.

Thank you for changing what we're having for dinner just because I'm picky.

Thank you for the surprises that make life a little more exciting.

Thank you for the fights because they showed me how petty it is to try to hold a grudge against someone that loves you more than anything else on the planet.

Thank you for the vacations that gave me the chance to have adventure in my life.

Thank you for hopping from field to field and school to school to make sure you caught part of each of us kiddo's sports games.

Thank you for not being afraid to tell me how it is and always keeping my best interest at heart.

Thank you for hugging me a little tighter and a little longer when you know that I need it.

Thank you for giving me unlimited data and not the other 3 siblings of the family, you sure know how to make a girl feel special.

Thank you for the traditions that give every special occasion a special meaning.

Thank you for doing your best to put my pieces back together when a teenage boy breaks my heart.

Thank you for working your hardest to make sure our family is provided with everything we could ask for and more.

Thank you for believing in me and making sure I know my worth.

No matter how many times I've yelled at you, slammed my bedroom door, attempted and failed to give you the silent treatment, came home late, made excuses, not done what you told me to do, etc,, know that I am sorry for anything I have put you through and that I am forever grateful for your unconditional love. It takes a strong woman with a full heart to put up with me and there is no one I would rather have to guide me through this roller coaster they call life. I learn something from you each and every day. It's because of you that I am who I am today and I would truly be lost without you.

Thank you for being you. I will never stop loving you with everything in my being.

XOXO,

Your dearest Brianna.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
