Dear Heartbroken Girl,

Life is mysterious, isn't it? I think it is truly amazing how someone you love and care about so much one day, can completely turn against the next. Honestly, it's pretty upsetting to me and to other guys out there. Some days after the initial breakup, you're going to feel tired or even more saddened by the recent events that have happened. But I'm here to tell you something that should have been told to you a long time ago: You are so much more than you think you are.

In today's society, women are stereotyped, it isn't a secret. But yet, most men will not talk about this fact and continue to degrade and make women feel smaller than they really are. Ladies, as a man, I am ashamed by men like this. To know that somewhere in the world, there is a man mistreating a woman because either she isn't "pretty enough" or she's "stupid", makes me all the more sicker. You are more.

Let me tell you what I have come to learn about women and how to treat them. I come from a family where I was the only boy really. I was raised around a lot of women and this made me respect women as individuals, as intellectual equals with myself and other men. Women are the backbone to a family structure. I will admit, I am a very emotional person, and I have had my fair share of teary eyed moments laying my head on my mother's shoulders to cry and tell her everything that has happened to me.

I feel for you right now in your moment of pain, i really truly do. No matter the hurt, the heartbreak you are going through right now, I hope you see a light, not just any light, but the light of God to brighten up your dark day. I could comfort you and tell you everything is going to be ok, but Your Heavenly Father is always waiting for you and listening to you. God tells us in Isaiah 41:10, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

So fear not, women of God, for God is always with you and will be with you for an eternity.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
