Dear President-elect Donald Trump,
I wish you the best; I truly do. The best comment I have seen post-election said that wishing you to fail would be like wishing the pilot crashed the plane we are all on. In light of this, I sincerely hope and pray that you do well. I would love to see America become great. However, there are a few things that need to change.
First of all, you need to learn to control what you say. I understand that you have been a billionaire, reality TV star known for your big mouth and key phrases like "You're fired", but being President is a different ball game. You will be dealing with very powerful people, like leaders of other countries, and if you say some of the rash things you have said during your campaigns, it could have a negative impact on America. Please think before you speak, and carefully consider the consequences your actions can have on the country. Now your words affect more than just you.
Next you need to reconsider some of the policies you stated you would put into place once elected. I get that you used the bigotry that lies within this country to rise to power, but please evaluate what you said, and see what is truly best for this country. For starters, you are not going to be able to change abortion laws, the rights of the LGBT+ community or scratch Obamacare, so do not waste time trying. This will only stir up more trouble for you. Instead, focus on creating more jobs. Unemployment is higher than it needs to be right now, so put your effort into helping Americans get jobs. This is something everyone can get behind, and can help unify our country.
Unifying our country brings up another issue. This election has caused a lot of unrest in America, and much of the hatred that already lied within came out. As president, it is vital that you bring the country together. Stand up for the LGBT+ community, stand behind the Black Lives Matter movement, love the Muslims in this country and help those who are trying to immigrate to this great country.
If you truly want to make this country great, you need to unify us. I pray that you surround yourself with people that can make this happen, and of course I hope you really do make America great.
Sincerely,
An American Who Loves Her Country
