To The Sisters Of Chi Omega Who Made Me Feel Loved

Sisters of Chi Omega,

I never knew how much this experience would change my life. From fall recruitment every moment was great. I remember the two sisters, Carlee and Courtney, that were so kind and made me feel welcome. The spaghetti dinner at the house with Allison H. and several others really made me feel like this is where I belong. When Kassi called me it was the best feeling to know that my future sisters felt the same way. I got that feeling of being at home. Last semester was so much fun with the lip sync battle and the practices that came before it. It was fun trying to concentrate on our Party In The USA dance moves while watching my love, Anthony Rizzo, at bat on TV during the World Series. Shyann, Carlee and the new members were so much fun to perform with. We had so much determination and enthusiasm that we won a crown board for the social media portion of the contest. It was a blast. It was great to see so many sisters come out to support us.

The new member educator, Ashley KZ, was the biggest help. She showed each of us the ways and teachings of Chi Omega. She probably answered about one thousand questions just from me. Without her, new members would be lost in the sauce.

The clues during big little reveal week were killing me. I struggled so much trying to figure out who my big would be. I said minutes before the reveal that I knew it wouldn't be Lexi because of her major. I cried my eyes out when I found out she lied to me and it was her all along. She has been the best big anyone could ask for. We crafted our awesome coolers and made each other owl boards. We spent so much time together and she even helped me move across the country after I graduated. Lexi, Brooke, and I went to throwing Thursday on campus and got to create many things from clay. Brooke, I love your dinosaurs.

I never thought having socials with fraternities would be so much fun to be honest. The social with DU was a blast. I felt like I really got to bond with my sisters and actually let loose and dance a little. Especially the congo line we made to go with our theme.

I also really enjoyed fall leadership conference and how our small group from Chi O stuck together to learn as a group with Rosetta, Jalyn, Courtney, Alexandria, and Carlee. The Thanksgiving sisterhood was great... too bad I didn't get any of that elote. That's okay though, since then I had some and it was good. Kyaking with you after homecoming was so peaceful and relaxing. It was like all of the stress from the week before floated away in the water.

Bowling in matching outfits with my big while we were hanging out with the tri sigmas was fun. My bowling skills may not be the best, but it was enjoyable. I couldn't bowl if my life depended on it.

I got to spend time with some of the coolest new members like Marrion, who is bold and fun, Lauren, Laura, Citali, Yasmeen, who isn't afraid to be herself, and Leanne. I also got to spend time with Montana, who I knew from day one would be there for me. The senior dinner was fun to really get to know some of the sisters I didn't get to bond with much before like Daniella, Kristen, and Lindsay and Maddie. The last few days of seeing some other sisters and spending time with them was also great like Allison D and Aya.

I love how Chi Omega really briged the gap between new members and actives and how they worked hard to get us to get to know each other. It was great to feel included and to feel informed.

I love how our sorority is so diverse and each of you have been so welcoming to me. It's crazy how close I got to all of you in such a short amount of time. I want to thank all of you for the best semester of my college years. You can miss me for a bit but I will be back soon, so don't miss me too much. I love my sisters and I love Chi O.

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
