To Bath & Body Works

You killed my confidence.

Dear Bath & Body Works,

Let me start out by saying that I really do enjoy your work. From the moment I hit puberty in middle school and needed to pay extra attention to my hygiene and way I smelled, you've been there for me with all the pretty pink scents I could imagine. As I have grown older into the blossoming, young adult that I am today, I have learned it's better to settle for one, loyal, and mature scent than playing the daily switch game between Sweet Pea, Pink Chiffon and Malibu. Your scent, Cashmere Glow, has been by my side since my freshmen year of high school. I use it daily in lotion and perfume form. I use the shave gel, body wash and when I'm in the pampering mood, I will break out my Cashmere Glow body exfoliator. The other day, I walked into your store, looking to purchase more of this wonderful product as I was about out of lotion for the summer. I walked in and headed right over to the shelf that my fragrance friend calls home. I reached up to grab a bottle but something was off....this red bottle wasn't the warm golden brown I love. No. IMPOSTER. After standing there confused and afraid, I walked over to the saleswoman who greeted me with a generous smile. I then asked what in the Sam Hell this was that I was holding in my hand and demanded to know what had happened to my sweet, sweet aroma. She said the words I dreaded to hear: "Oh! That scent has actually been discontinued! I can show you some similar scents this way!" No, saleslady Becky, I don't want a "similar" scent. You decided to take this beautiful, trusty scent away from me. My heart is broken. This particular olfactory sensation holds memories (just ask my ex), makes me confident, and makes me, me. You should really re-name it to Grace Fjellanger. My friends can always tell who is forcefully hugging them or whose sweatshirt it was left in their room. It has become a part of me. What am I to do now? My mother shared in this traumatizing experience and hopped online to buy me 100 dollars worth of product. But, now the scent appears to be in full stock on your website again. I'm just getting mixed messages. Do I need to start looking else where for my olfactory identity? Get it together Bath & Body. Also maybe consider giving a college student discount? Thank you for your consideration.

Love and smells,

Grace

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
