An Open Letter to All Anti-Trump Americans

To all anti-Trump Americans,

So we have it, a new President, the 45th to be exact. But instead of banning together and hoping for a better, brighter future for each and every fellow American citizen, the anti-Trump protestors have taken it a little too far.

As a Political Science major it angers me to no extent to see people disrespect and deface the institution which I study, and which we as citizens look up to. In my opinion, we as a country need to step back, maybe attend a history 101 class at a local college, and realize that we are fortunate enough to live in the greatest country in the world. Our founding fathers established the foundation for a country led by a President who the people elect into office. We, the people of this great country, need to stop complaining, and stop rioting because to be blunt it won't change a thing now. So those protestors need to get over it and change their mindset to be hopeful for the years to come.

These anti-trump campaigns prove nothing but that those involved are conceited, low class and uneducated Americans who will throw a fit, or set fire to a limo on Inauguration Day, when things don't go their way. I just can't comprehend what possesses someone to protest in such a way. Of course as a polisci major I understand and respect the first amendment of our Constitution which does indeed gives us the right to peacefully speak, assembly, and petition something we don't particularly agree with. BUT that does not give these protestors the right to break into private businesses, establish riots in the streets and set limos on fire, those are not peaceful in any way and quite honestly they put others' lives in danger.

As a young conservative I of course supported the Republican Trump campaign since day one. And although I don't agree with everything he has said or done in the past, I believe that him, just like everyone else, deserves a chance to prove himself. I'm sure many Americans had doubts about Obama at first, but in my opinion he was able to prove himself as a decent leader over the past 8 years. So why is it then, that we are so unwilling to give Trump that same benefit of the doubt? Why are so many people rebelling and trying to wish him away already, before he has even had a chance to prove what he is capable of?

In reality, neither former President Obama nor current President Trump will go down in the history books as anything close to the leaders we once had like Washington, Lincoln or Jackson. But the title of 'President' does indeed deserve to be used with the same amount of respect now, as it did back then. I'd like to think I'm an optimist, so of course I am wishing and hoping for the best to come out of these next 4 years. I just can't understand how a truly patriotic American can be wishing for the President to fail, because wishing that is ultimately wishing for our country and government system to fail as well.

Anti-Trump Americans need to have a little more respect for the highest authority in our government. Whether they like it or not he was voted into office so the only thing these far left liberals can do is sit back and have a front row seat to see exactly what Trump will do in the months and years to come. We as a nation cannot cast him away and cannot give up on him just yet. What we really need to do is respect our President enough, to give him the benefit of the doubt and to wait and see what he plans to do, because in reality at this point that's all we can do.

Yours Truly,

A young Trump supporter

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
