An Open Letter To My Big

You're the best Big I could ever ask for.

An Open Letter To My Big
Breanna Sahr

Dear Big,

First things first, I want to say thank you. Thank you for answering all my questions during rush week, no matter how crazy they were. Thank you for comforting me when I am having a bad day, for reassuring me and always looking out for me. Thank you for making me laugh through the tears and always letting me know that you are there for me no matter what. Thank you for being you, my hilarious, beautiful, political science nerd of a big who never wants to hear any scary stories but is always down for some ice cream even when it is really cold outside.

The week leading to the Big-Little reveal was probably one of the longest of my entire life. I've never been given so many random gifts before and each day was a new revealing detail that told me absolutely nothing of who you were (or maybe I'm just bad at guessing)! Even though I had no idea that it was you who had given me all the gifts, you came to ask me what I had been given every day as if you had no clue who my Big was. Finally, when you were revealed to be my Big, I had to hold myself back from jumping into your arms because I was so excited and overjoyed that it was you.

Though you haven't been my Big for a long time, and we met each other over a year ago when we were both confused first-year students trying to navigate college, it sure seems like we've been a part of the same family for years. You and I definitely were a one-to-one match and I am so proud to be your Little.

Being in a sorority has helped me grow as a person. You have been with me from the very first day of rush, encouraging me and always lending a listening ear and something funny to say that will make me laugh (it's true, I think you're hilarious!).

So, even though you always manage to make me jump with fright no matter what time of day you knock on my door, you always end up saying exactly the right thing and I wouldn't choose any other Big in the world but you. You're the best Big I could ever ask for.

Thank you for being you.

Love,

Your Little

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
