Full blooms of azaleas dot campus with bright pink and white.
Oak trees canopy the skyline with green leaves and block out the sun.
A calm breeze rustles through the crunchy leaves, and then through my hair.
Squirrels run and hop about on the hunt for the oh-so-precious light brown beauties we call acorns.
The bell tower chimes in the distance as people sit out on the parade grounds.
Ultimate frisbee and baseball games are in season
As the winter weather gives way to springtime showers and sun.
Spring is a time full of life and outdoor fun.
Nature is programmed for this life-giving change of seasons and the seeds can't hardly wait
Angiosperms, Oh angiosperms, how beautiful though art,
But how you haunt me!
You've given me a decent reason
To stay inside and become reclusive.
You make my eyes rage and burn with the fire of the Sun.
The doctors say I've got allergies and that the evidence is conclusive.
Allergy pills and eye drops and tissues, oh my!
As the pollen blankets cars my head fills with histamines and
Screams "when will this toxic nightmare end?"
I close my Claritin bottle and reply,
"Only just in time for the unbearable heat of summer to arrive!"
