An Ode To Five Below

Thank you for being the true MVP; my wallet appreciates it.

Some people call you a glorified dollar store, but they are so wrong. You are so much more than a glorified dollar store to me. This store was basically made for students in college. There is just about everything that we could need here. Every time I shop here, I almost never leave the store empty handed.

I'm not going to lie, a lot of the things in my room right now are from you. You are definitely a hidden gem to those who have never heard of you before. If I know that I'm going to need some organizational items, you are the first place I think of going to. Since everything is reasonably priced at five or below, you're a perfect stop for the broke college student in need of some over-the-door hooks or storage bins. Thank you for always being one step ahead of my thoughts and helping me organize my life.

Don't even get me started on the tech area! Screen protectors and cases for days for just about every device out there from smartphones to tablets. Chargers galore! Although the chargers aren't the best all the time, they serve their purpose for the time being. I can always count on you for having the coolest looking accessories for my iPhone. Thank you for having six feet chargers so I can sit comfortably in my bed and binge watch Netflix off of my phone.

To avoid the "Freshman 15" (or to work it off) you have a great assortment of fitness items conveniently priced with the college students wallet in mind. If I don't want to go to the gym, I can simply purchase some weights and a foam roller and I am good to go. Thank you for allowing me to achieve zen in my room on my reasonably priced yoga mat.

You are definitely the place I hit up before I have a movie night with my friends. Everyone can get their favorite candy (and even their second favorite) without breaking the bank. Thank you for not judging me when I buy more candy than I probably should be buying.

Although college students don't typically need a lot of physical school supplies besides their laptop, I always rely on you to supply me with items to refill my desk with. Pens for note-taking an paper to take the notes on. Crayons and markers for all of those adult coloring books and even tape to put up my masterpieces! Thank you for allowing me to express my creativity in an inexpensive way.

You are really the best thing that has ever happened for some college students. You never cease to amaze me with your ways of getting me to spend my money there. You're just amazing in every-way possible and I'm so grateful for you.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
