I started a new job in West Chester this summer, and with that new job came new friends. One of the friends I made introduced me to Barnaby’s Wing Night and my life has been changed. We are now religious Wing Night goers. This article is for you, Tiff, hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoy wings every Wednesday.
As a college kid who has to pay rent, I don’t have tons of money for other things. That is, until I was introduced to Wing Night. My friend from work invited me to go with her one week and I figured why not. She told me how cheap the special was and it perfectly fit my budget. My friend was full of excitement telling me about Wing Night, explaining how it was her favorite night of the week. Wednesday came and we both got off work and walked the three blocks to Barnaby’s.
I was amazed how not-chaotic the place was. Back home, Wing Nights are a mess. It’s impossible to get a table, the service is slow, and half your high school is there. When my friend told me about Wing Night, I wasn’t super excited because crappy Wing Nights are all I’ve ever known. We were seated and my friend didn’t even look at the menu. The super friendly waitress came to take our order and we both got the wing special (on some occasions, we get cheese fries to split, too).
I have to admit I’m more of a boneless wing fan than regular wings, but Barnaby’s wings changed all that. Wing Night made me a traditional wing lover. Their wings are fried just right with the perfect amount of amazing wing sauce. That first Wing Night was the first time I really had traditional wings and they were delicious. The special is ten wings for five dollars. However, one time my Wing Night enthusiast friend got eleven wings. This was a momentous event to her, for the eleventh wing was something she only heard about. Experiencing the eleventh wing was an exciting experience for her, and I couldn’t stop laughing. We pretty much ate in silence because we were enjoying the wings too much to talk. Our amazing waitress kept checking up on us and we couldn’t answer because we had mouths full of wings. When the tab came, it was under six dollars, leaving me and my bank account happy.
Ever since that first Wing Night, I’m there every Wednesday with my friend from work. Getting tasty and filling meal with great service for under ten bucks can’t be beat. It might be one of the best kept secrets at West Chester, because I didn’t know about it for the two years I’ve been going to school here. Wing Night is definitely a game changer for the college kid on a budget, and I urge everyone to round up all their broke friends and go get some amazing wings at Barnaby’s this Wednesday. My work friend and I promised to be Wing Night buddies, and can’t wait till we both turn 21 in January to enjoy some beer with our wings as well.
