An Open Letter To My Daddy

Daddy,

I wanted to thank you for all the things you have done for me. To thank you for being the best dad a girl can ask for.

During my 18 years on this earth, I have never gone without anything. You always provided for me.

Thank you for being a Godly role model to me. You showed me the true definition of “a man after God’s own heart.”Thank you for pushing me to go out of my comfort zone to tell others about Jesus.

Thank you for showing me what a Godly relationship should look like. The way you treat Mom with love, kindness, and respect shows me how a man should treat me.

Thank you for teaching me to “never settle for less than I deserve.”

Thank you for the continual support over the years. You give some of the greatest advice and you always listen to me complain, even if it does get on your nerves. Thank you for allowing me to try many different hobbies. Thank you for teaching me the love of the game for each and every sport that I tried.

Thank you for supporting my college decisions. Thank you for providing me a shoulder to cry on when I was overwhelmed with decisions and wise words when I needed them. Without you, I would have probably gone crazy during senior year.

Thank you for teaching me to be a hard worker.

Thank you for always being patient with me.

Thank you for always being up for a baseball game, ice cream, and watching Criminal Minds with me. Thank you for supporting my love for the Alabama Crimson Tide and for driving me 10 hours to their game.

Thank you for always knowing how to put a smile on my face. Whether it be a simple phone call or an “I love you” text, you continually made me smile.

Thank you for pushing me to be the best person I could be. Your encouragement allowed me to be successful in both my academics and athletics. Without you, I probably would have never given track a chance.

Thank you for your daily encouragement.Without it, I probably wouldn't have tried many of the things that you encouraged me to try.

Thank you for protecting me. Whether from a boy or from danger, you always knew what was best for me, even if I didn't always agree with your rules and regulations.

Thank you for allowing me to have a memorable childhood, with all the crazy family vacations, baseball tournaments, and weekend adventures.

Thank you for driving me to gymnastics, cheerleading, volleyball practice, and school.

Thank you for always believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.

Thank you for putting up with my sassy attitude, even when I was out-of-control.

Thank you for always making me laugh. You always know how to cut a joke and I always find them funny.

I’ll always be your little girl. No matter how old I am or how far away I live. I could write this letter for the rest of my life and still not be done. I am so grateful for all that you do for me.

I love you with my whole heart. I may not always show it, but know I love you to the moon and back.

Love always,

Your little girl

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
