As many of you may or may not know, Vine, the social media platform that allowed users to create videos of six seconds in time repetitively, is being discontinued. For me, this is really isn't a big deal. I haven't watched Vines since 2013 and I was certainly never good at making them. But, while there are many people out there who are too busy with Snapchat and Instagram to care where Vine is going, there are some who are mourning the loss of this app.
These people are hard to find, but I lucked out and just so happened to be dating one of the last lovers of Vine. My boyfriend Chris could sit for hours upon hours indulging in six-second loops of slightly comical viral videos. This is something I chose not to attempt to understand, but now that the app is going away I find that it is important that his voice is heard in the loss of something near and dear to his heart. Thankfully, Chris was able to remove one side of his headphones as he played video games for me to ask him some questions as to what he is going to miss about Vine.
Here is an interview with faithful vine viewer:
Will you please state your name, where you go to school, and a little bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Chris Brock, I am senior at Kennesaw State University, and I still use Vine.
How often do you use Vine?
Probably at 45 minutes to an hour, four days out of the week.
Do you ever try to create a Vine?
When I first downloaded it, yeah.
What do you use Vine for then, just viewing?
Yeah just for entertainment. To watch.
Who is your favorite Viner to watch or what is your favorite Vine to watch and why?
That's tough and my favorite Vine would even tougher to answer. Hold on...

My favorite Viner is Nick Colletti because he is consistently funny.
What is it about Vine that has kept you hooked since it's debut a little over 6 years ago?
The fact that everything on there is so pointless. It is something to zone out on when there is nothing to do.
What app do you think you will use more in place of Vine or is Vine irreplaceable?
It's definitely replaceable, but I will probably just use Twitter to fill the space.
Do you think the discontinuing of this app is a mistake?
HAH! No. It is so obsolete no one really cared about it.
Do you think people who don't watch Vines are missing out, and if so why?
Naw, they can just watch it on Facebook or Twitter. Anything worth watching on Vine is usually on another social media platform as well.
What do you want to tell Vine before it leaves?
I appreciate the laughs. Actually, let's just say it was fun while it lasted...

Well, there you have it, folks. Even the most loyal of Vine users could care less if it is discontinued. Thank you to Chris and thank you to vine for over six years of making six seconds of our lives a little more interesting, over, and over, and over again.
