No—I am not referring to the insane Amy from the addictive movie/book "Gone Girl." I am talking about the hilarious comedian I now want as my best friend, Amy Schumer. After seeing her recent movie "Trainwreck," I can proudly say that her film debut was undoubtedly a success. Starring as a commitment-fearing partier alongside Bill Hader, LeBron James, and a multitude of other killer celebrities, Amy clearly lets her natural, humorous personality and charm shine through into her on-screen character.
I had only heard of Amy Schumer via "The Bachelorette" and my tendency to eaves-drop on other conversations, but after seeing this movie, I can say it is definitely up there next to "Bridesmaids" on my list of laugh-til-you-cry movies. I don't want to ruin the movie, I just want to commend it for not being forcibly funny. The film was funny in its perfect amounts of emotions, including brotherly to romantic love. It adds a sort of realism and modern twist that most romantic comedies fail to recognize. In almost all those, we see the same story: boy likes girl, girl likes boy, something weird and dramatic happens, they break up, they magically get back together, and then the world is perfect again. However, "Trainwreck" is different in that it allows for more accurate scenarios to be seen on screen with a lot of ridiculously good humor. Do yourself a favor and go see it if you haven't yet.
